Odds ratios, 95% confidence intervals, and statistical significance of HPS predictor variables. Odds ratios of the Thematic Mapper bands indicate the change in risk for each unit change in digital number recorded by the satellite sensor. Elevation was divided as either above or below 2,094 m for the analysis. There was no difference between the Training and Validation areas, as tested by t-test (t). The Controls and Cases columns show the mean and range of values at the control and case sites, respectively.
